Faucets, Shower Valves, Tub & Shower Valves
The faucet and valve choices regarding brand names, designs, finishes, single, 4" or 8” wide spread, quality and prices are endless it seems.
There have been changes in recent years to remove the lead ingredient level in the copper and brass production of these plumbing items so therefore plastics have played a large role and prices have typically increased due to the lead-free changes that affect the consumers.
Although some brands you may find look nice or the price is right, we caution people to beware that you are not spending good money on a faucet or especially a tub or shower valve that may be hard to find parts for further in the future, because this could cost you more in the long run.
Unless longevity is not a concern then this advice doesn’t necessarily matter, but otherwise we highly recommend: Delta, Moen, Kohler or Wolverine Brass, that is exclusively available to the licensed Plumbing Professional.
This is an area often times that you should either research on your own or consult your Plumber which we hope is us, to answer any questions you have. This becomes a little more involved with tubs and showers because these valve bodies are installed in the wall but options are still available if you desire not to disturb the existing tile wall when it comes to repairs or replacements based on individual job circumstances.
